Michael and Christina Gyetvan opened the original Azzurro Pizzeria on Second Street in downtown Napa in 2001, inspired by a love of simple, seasonal food and a desire to create a welcoming neighborhood space. In 2008, they moved the restaurant to a bright, modern location on Main Street, where Azzurro Pizzeria e Enoteca continues to serve thin-crust, pizzas, pastas, seasonal antipasti, and vibrant salads, all complemented by a thoughtful West Coast wine list. With daily specials, local beers, and beloved desserts like Straus Family soft serve and a decadent Guittard Chocolate Brownie, the menu reflects Michael’s roots in ingredient-driven cooking—shaped by his time at the Culinary Institute of America and kitchens like Tra Vigne, Lark Creek Inn and One Market. Christina, leads operations and keeps the spirit of the place grounded and personal. The space balances the warmth of a traditional Italian pizzeria with a clean, modern sensibility, complete with a communal table that brings people together. Michael and Christina live in Napa, and when not at the restaurant, they can be found skiing, cycling, camping, or enjoying the outdoors. Azzurro has become both a local favorite and a destination—a reflection of the Gyetvans’ enduring commitment to good food, community, and California hospitality.
